Insurance Business Development Representative Position Summary

Healthcare Providers Insurance Company (HPIC) is a member owned and governed insurance company dedicated to serving the liability insurance needs of healthcare facilities and other health care providers.  This role is responsible for understanding the insurance coverage needs of our customers and managing coverage solutions through our MHA Insurance Agency.  The incumbent is responsible for annually reviewing customer's coverages and services to gage appropriateness, customer satisfaction and identify a solutions based strategy for the coming year. 


The essential functions of the role includes reviewing customer coverages and services to help them select the correct insurance product (D&O, Property, Cyber and or Excess) and the proper level of coverage.  They must represent subscribers by negotiating commissions, coverage terms and product pricing with carriers and brokers; must produce insurance solutions for customers through product knowledge, outside sales and inside marketing; and will own the renewal process by preparing and delivering renewal presentations for all HPIC product lines.  The Insurance Business Relations Manager must be able to work in a team environment by frequently communicating with clients and with HPIC teams in underwriting, claims, risk management and workers compensation.  The incumbent must be able to identify new market place coverages and create and maintain a new subscriber pipeline by building relationships in the marketplace.  Attending trade shows and marketing HPIC products and services to current and prospective customers is one function essential to creating and maintaining our subscriber pipeline. 


The role requires 4-year college degree and Four (4) years' experience marketing P&C in an insurance agency/ brokerage environment .  Experience working with professional liability coverages is also preferred.  You must have an P&C insurance brokerage license in MS to perform in this role.


This position requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and effectively communicate product offerings and persuasively market company and agency products.  Must be able to communicate in a friendly manner and work effectively with others.
